So I am considering going private. I would like to know your opinions on the matter. It seems like more and more people are going private these days so I want to know what makes someone go from having an open blog to a private one. What was the determining factor?

Private...way to many crazy people out there, you just never know who is looking at your blog. I feel like when your blog is private, you are in complete control as to who is reading and seeing your pictures.
I've been thinking about going private as well. I am not sure how to do it but let me know what you find out. Also I can't believe you only have 43 days left until you have your baby! Crazy! I can't wait to see her. I might be going down to Henderson around July 17th so we should get together if you haven't had your baby yet!
I thought about going private and the only thing that kept me from doing it was that then people that might be trying to find you, can't, but I'm not that thrilled about anyone being able to read my blog. Let me know if you decide to go private. :)
As of right now I've still decided to keep my blog open for many reasons. I often forget to check or read my friends blogs who have private ones. Also, I think if you ensure that you cannot get to your blog from a google search and block your profile page {I don't have my like this right now, but I think I am going to change that}--so people cannot link there from the comments you make on others blogs-it would be pretty hard for some creepo to just come across your blog. Maybe I'm naive, but I try to be extra careful about what specifics I mention on my blog because it is open.
To each his own I suppose. The truth is I think the only blurkers looking at my blog are fellow members of the church and/or family members. I guess the issue a lot of people have is that there is no way to know. I guess to make a long comment longer I'll say--I do everything I can to protect myself because I have a public blog and I don't dwell on the fact that there are creeps out there. There is so much readily available for them.
I meant to add--they go for what's easiest.
Ok, so I have decided to go private after reading a friends blog about a police officer on Oprah who said that there are too many sickos out there possibly looking at your kids pictures! So, again if you decide to go private let me know ok?!
I have done both private and public. I went private for a while but then I had too many readers. Blogger only allowed 100 people on the private list so I had to change it back. I just make sure everything goes to my email first for approval.
