This is really late but most of you know my sister Rebecca had her baby girl. Well, she recently had her pictures taken by a woman by the name of Skye Johansen in Utah. These pictures are absolutely the cutest pictures!!! Not only is baby Elizabeth beautiful and adorable but the photographer is amazing. To check out Elizabeth's pictures go to www.skyejohansen.com.

The BIrth
So here I am before she was born. Look at that slight smile on my face, if I had only known then what was about to transpire! I guess Kate's birth story isn't completely out of the norm but I definitely hadn' t planned on having a Natural Delivery! here is how the story goes...I knew I was most likely going to be induced because they don't usually let diabetics go over 39 weeks and I was induced with Ryan. So earlier in my 39th week my doctor slightly stripped my membranes and then two days later did it again hoping to help things along but lo and behold nothing. So I went in on Friday morning to be induced. The nightmare started when they couldn't get the darn IV in, I really hate that part! After 4 failed attempts, my veins blew, they finally got it in and started the patossin. Then they broke my water and labor began. Anyone who has had patossin I think would agree that it makes the contractions feel more intense but then again labor in and of itself is pretty intense. By the time I was at about a 4 I asked for my epidural so the nurse called for the anesthesiologist to come in and administer it. When she arrived to give it to me my lab results arrived at the same time. The nurse and Anesthesiologist gave each other a worried look and I knew something was up. By this time I was feeling ALOT of pain and was ready for the drugs! Unfortunately the anesthesiologist would not give me the epidural because my platlett count was too low. I guess normal is anything above 120 and mine was 70 something. Anyway it has to do with how your blood clotts and she refused to give me one unless I had a blood transfusion. At first I was worried thinking it was cancer or something because no one could tell me why they were low but later the doctor explained that it occurs in about 8% of pregnancies and it's pregnancy induced and would go away after delivery. Anyway, I told them to order up the blood because I was not going to have this baby without some kind of pain relief. I would have had to have a transfusion with a c section as well so as far as I was concerned I was going to have the transfusion. The only problem was that they had to order the blood which would take about an hour to receive and then administering it would be about another hour and unfortunately by the time they were getting ready to order it I was at an 8 and it was too late. I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT WAS HAPPENING! I was so upset I think I whimpered the whole time, kind of embarassing, but I was not expecting that at all. Let me tell you that I have never ever experienced that kind of pain and hope to never ever experience it again! One plus, I will admit, is that recovery was a breeze compared to my first and I'm sure it had something to do with not having the epidural. After about 2 hours of pushing Kate was out and the relief was immediate. I'm glad now that I was able to experience it and actually do it but I never want to do it natural again. the next day when the doctor came in she said I was saying things like, "What are you doing, what are you waiting for?" and other not so nice things which I vaguely remember and quite frankly I don't even remember who was in the room. All I remember is the pain. I also had broken blood vessels all over my face and neck from pushing, gross I know maybe too much info, but all part the experience! Anyway, Kate is here and I am feeling great, tired but great and we are loving our new little baby girl.

Kate
We had our baby!! Kate was born at 3:46. She weighed in at 8lbs 1oz. and 21 inches long. She looks a little bit like Ryan did when she was born and a lot like her dad. We love her! The birthing story will come in time, it's quite the story, but baby and I are doing great. For some reason it's been easier this time around. I'll post pictures soon as well.

Never move when you're almost 35 weeks pregnant! Today's the day and lets just say I can't wait until tomorrow....I mean next week...or maybe next month, when we are done with moving!

Private blog
So I am considering going private. I would like to know your opinions on the matter. It seems like more and more people are going private these days so I want to know what makes someone go from having an open blog to a private one. What was the determining factor?

There's No Place Like Home!
So we have some big news..........WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!!! We are so excited to be leaving the apartment life behind and to take on the responsibilities of owning our first home. It's just up the road a ways from where we are now. It's going to need some upgrading inside but it's big enough that hopefully we'll be able to stay there for a long time and make everything just the way we want it. Hopefully we will be in by the end of next month but as long as we're in before the baby comes I'm ok. I'm going to eventually be posting before and after photos as we work our magic inside but those photos won't be coming for quite some time. One really sad fact about moving is that we will be leaving our ward which I've really enjoyed being a part of but I know our new ward will be great too. Our house is just out of our ward boundaries but at least we'll be close to friends and family in our old ward.

House Hunters
Has anyone ever seen the show house hunters? Jeremy and I have started looking for houses and I wish it were as easy as they make it seem on that show! I have a feeling this is going to be long, exhausting and anything but fun. Isn't there a house out there with min. of 4 bedrooms a city or mountain view, hardwood, granite, thick shutters, an upstairs loft, stainless steel appl., walk in closets a pool and within my price range? OK, I'm kidding about expecting to find all of that within our budget but a couple of those things would be nice. Wish us luck on our hunt!

Sweet Ryan
I just wanted to say happy birthday to my sweet little Ryan. I can't believe she is two years old today. It seems like yesterday I was in the hospital delivering all 7lbs. 13 oz. of her. She has brought so much joy and love into our home and life definitely would not be the same without her! Today we've already had so much fun opening presents, going to breakfast with grandma and picking out some birthday presents with her. Tomorrow we're having a little princess party, as requested, for her so I'll post all of her Birthday pictures then.

Baby boom!
So I'm very excited to announce that my family is experiencing a baby boom! First Carrilynn is having a baby in about a week, then myself the end of July and now I'm happy to announce that my little sister Rebecca is also pregnant, yeah! They've been trying a little over a year and they are so excited. She is about 12 weeks along and is due in October. Needless to say I'm extremely excited since our babies will only be about 2 1/2 months apart. Congratulations Booky and Derek!

Parties and Messes!
So this past month has been quite busy. It all started off with an awards night for the city of Henderson with my dad receiving a surprise award! He had no idea he was recieving it and no idea that his kids were coming, SURPRISE. Next, we babysat our neices Ali and Corinne so Tana and Loren could go out for Tana's birthday. The girls were great, so well behaved....well until Ali and Ryan decided to pull out everything from Ryan's dresser and throw it on the floor. It was quite the mess but it was so cute to see them in their beanies and surprised faces when we came in. We had to take pictures of it. Last but not least my sister in law Tana and friend Leesha had a birthday on the same day so my friend Cairen threw a little birthday lunch for them. I was in charge of the birthday cake which was so fun to do. Cairen told me about a cake she saw online and when I saw it I had to make it. It's layered, not 1,2, 3 even 4 layers, it's 12 layers! It looked so cool when we cut it I had to post pictures of it. I probably won't be making another one anytime soon but I'm glad I tried it and it was a success until I almost hit a biker coming out of our complex. As soon as I saw him I slammed on my brakes and the cake flew off of the cake stand!!! Luckily there was minimal damage to the cake and none to the biker, nothing a little frosting couldn't fix.

Cookie Tuesday
So yesterday we made sugar cookies with some of Ryan's cousins. The kids had a blast rolling, cutting and of course decorating and eating the cookies! Ryan is just like me, she seemed to like the dough and frosting better than the cooked cookie. It was fun to see her with her cousins, she loves playing with them.
